It's the last week of my fun-employment so here is a look back at my first week (there were only 2). On this trip I spent almost all of my time with Mimi. What we planned was much more grandiose than what we actually did. A solid 8 hours of Keeping Up with the Kardashian's, 2 hours of shopping and a hike. Needless to say, I was able to avoid the gym for a solid two weeks after this exhausting adventure.
Getting from Scottsdale to Camelback is only a 15 minute drive, much like everything else in Arizona. Parking for Camelback comes at the base of the trail about a quarter mile away from the trail head depending on when you get there. We missed it the first time because I was either a poor navigator or Mimi was a poor driver. Because she has no recourse to defend herself at this point: I am going to say that I was giving good directions and she just wasn't listening. Needless to say, it is easy to miss where the trail head starts because you need to park by a residential neighborhood to begin with.
The hike itself will take a competent person an hour to complete and the trail runs about 3 to 4 miles. We, however, are not competent hikers. It took us 2 hours of stopping and going before we completed the hike. Most of our stops consisted of looking at cactus' and drinking water as pictured below. Like with any hike, bring lots of water and break when needed.
